Why We Need Research Cross-Section Structure of Fiber?

With the further development of fiber research and the improvement of textile products, it is found that the physical properties of textile products are not only related to the quality of fibers but also related to the cross-section structure of fibers. Therefore, research the fiber cross-section structure, and then finding out the relationship between the cross-section structure and manufacturing method, product properties, which has a very important guiding significance to improve the fiber structure and improve the fiber properties.

What is a Fiber Microtome?

The fiber section microtome, use the blade to cut the fiber along the perpendicularly of the fiber axis to obtain a flat tissue of the fiber cross-section. Put the tissue under a projector or microscope, identify the fiber varieties and observe the fiber shape. At last obtain the correlation energy of the fiber cross-section structure, such as special-shaped fiber, medium and special-shaped degree of a special-shaped filament and so on.

Test Specification

Determine the composition of various textiles and the types of fibers contained in fabrics quantitatively.

Testing ranges include natural fibers: cotton, hair, hemp, silk, wool, etc. Man-made fibers: acetate, polypropylene, nylon, polyester, rayon, etc.
